In den letzten Monaten war es schon relativ still um QUOTE.fm und das ist auch kein Zufall. Seit heute ist es nämlich offiziell: Marcel, Philipp, Flo und ich werden QUOTE.fm in Zukunft nicht weiter entwickeln und betreuen.

Die Kurzform: Uns ist das Geld ausgegangen, wir haben keinen Investor gefunden und das Projekt ist zu groß für die Freizeit. Wir übergeben es daher in die Hände der elbdudler. Weitere Infos findet ihr im QUOTE.fm Blog.

Das ganze ist traurig und ich hatte mir es anders gewünscht, aber es war eine wirklich tolle Zeit mit dem besten Team der Welt und die Erfahrung, die ich gewonnen habe, kann mir niemand mehr nehmen.

Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle nochmal bei allen Nutzern, Freunden und Unterstützern bedanken, die diese Reise überhaupt erst möglich gemacht haben. Vielen Dank! Ihr seid die Besten! <3

After months of work we finally did it. Yesterday we introduced QUOTE.fm Read and with it QUOTE.fm for iPad.

So as you might have heard we submitted our iPad app some days ago and we eagerly anticipated the approval. Yesterday it finally happened, the QUOTE.fm iPad app got approved by Apple. We are so incredibly happy. So when will the app be downloadable? Next tuesday! Yes, that’s right, next tuesday we will put the app online and also roll out QUOTE.fm Read on the web and a lot of other great stuff. You’ll love it!

I am so excited about all this and am so much looking forward to next week. But until then Philipp and I still have to do some things so that everything will be fine when you start Social Reading the best stories from the web on QUOTE.fm.

The last few days I read a lot about startups, mainly because we are one and I wanted to see if there is something we are missing, what we should be aware of or just what others think of young companies like us.

This afternoon we finally submitted the QUOTE.fm iPad App to the App Store. We are relieved and happy and hope that the App Review guys at Apple are in a good mood and we get approved soon.

The last few days I began to make QUOTE.fm responsive. I started with the main features like the Following Timeline and Discover which are fully responsive now. You are even able to send recommendations right from your smartphone. We think that’s really a great step forward.

Please keep in mind that not every page is responsive yet and that retina graphics for all icons are coming in the near future.

Yesterday we released a new version of the QUOTE.fm bookmarklet. It looks better, gives more information about the article you are going to recommend and generally behaves more like the rest of QUOTE.fm. In the future it’ll also give you the ability to read an article now or later and even send it to your Kindle.

To use the all new bookmarklet you don’t need to do anything. Just use it like before, it’s automatically updates to the newest version.
