From the information I’ve gathered, it appears to me that this new upgrade policy for the next version of Adobe Photoshop and the Creative Suite (presumably called CS6) will leave a significant number of your customers with no affordable upgrade path to Photoshop CS6 or the Creative Suite.
Scott Kelby richtet als Präsident der National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) einen öffentlichen Brief an Adobe. Es geht darin um die Änderungen der Upgrademöglichkeiten. In Zukunft soll ein Upgrade auf CS6 nur von CS5, bzw CS5.5 möglich sein. Das bedeutet, jeder der CS3 oder CS4 hat, müsste jetzt noch schnell auf CS5 updaten um günstiger an CS6 kommen zu können. Macht man das Update nicht, muss man CS6 für den vollen Preis kaufen. Adobe erzwingt also mehr oder weniger ein Upgrade auf CS5, damit man die Möglichkeit hat CS6 günstig zu bekommen, auch wenn noch niemand genau weiß was CS6 bieten wird.
Scott schlägt Adobe einen anderen Weg vor und versucht Adobe ins Gewissen zu reden. Insgesamt klingt der Artikel etwas weinend, kratzt aber am Ende noch die Kurve. Ich bin gespannt ob sich Adobe zu dem Brief äußert.

Schon ein paar Tage alt, aber Wow! Adobe präsentiert eine Photoshopfunktion in Betastatus zum Schärfen von verwackelten Fotos. Anhand der Verwacklung wird errechnet wie man die Kamera beim Auslösen bewegt hat und dementsprechend die Korrektur vorgenommen. Beeindruckend.
When I’m shooting I almost always just throw the camera into the automatic settings, not worrying about color, exact exposer, flash, or any of that. When I’m shooting I just focus on getting a good composition that’s in focus.
It’s one of my favorite parts of doing photography, sitting there with a photo and tweaking the colors, the lighting, the contrast until it looks the way I saw it when I went to take the photo or until looks the way I wish it would have looked when I took the photo. It’s something cameras just can’t do on their own. Photoshop is where the serious art happens.
Mike Matas ist ein hervorragender Designer und auch guter Fotograf, aber an dieser Stelle teile ich seine Meinung nicht. Ich denke vieles lässt sich schon in der Kamera erreichen und erspart den Photoshopteil. Aber gut, wenn er es so gerne mag, kann ja jeder machen wie er will. (Ich bearbeite ja auch gerne Fotos, so ist’s ja nicht.)
Aber der letzte Satz “Photoshop is where the serious art happens”. Uhm. Ne.
Da ich meinen Platz aber nicht in Anspruch nehmen möchte, gebe ich den Platz für 640€ weg. Ihr bekommt also einen Tag geschenkt!
