Brydge + iPad: Do more.

Brydge:

Is it just us, or does it feel like the options for iPad keyboards and accessories are excessive in quantity, yet lacking in quality? This is why we created Brydge, which simply transforms your iPad into a laptop worthy of Apple.

This idea of turning your iPad into a high quality laptop seemed obvious to us and we were shocked when we could not find any accessory that accomplished this. So we set out to make such a product from the highest quality materials that would compliment your iPad perfectly.

Of all the iPad-laptop solutions I’ve seen this is the best one, but I really don’t know if I like the whole concept. Why not use the iPad as it is and if you need more, use a laptop? With an iPad-laptop I can type better/faster and have a different viewing angle, but that’s it, right? I still have to touch the screen for navigation, so for coding for example, I still would be much slower than on an 11″ MacBook Air. And the next day I would have muscles soreness.

Markus Hartel on analog VS digital

Markus Hartel:

I hate to break it to you guys, but switching to film from digital does not make you a better photographer, it may give you something to brag about, but that’s about it – what counts is your vision and your command of your gear, nothing else. processing can be a pain in the rear for both and the editing process is pretty much the same, get on with the program and start photographing already…

Agreed.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1 Release Candidate 2 now available

Adobe Labs:

April 26, 2012 — Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1 release candidate 2 is now available.

I’m using LR4 RC1 since it’s release. In my experience it is already faster than the 4.0 Version. So I will update immediately to RC2 since it fixes some more bugs.

Naked Password – jQuery Plugin to Encourage Stronger Passwords

nakedpassword.com:

The whole idea of naked password is to encourage your users to enter stronger passwords.

Our beautiful model Sally tastefully removes items of clothing as the password grows stronger.

Fun idea. If the plugin could automatically detect whether the user is female or male it would be even better.

My Thoughts on the Fujifilm X-Pro 1

Rinzi Ruiz:

No camera is perfect so it’s just about learning how to use it. For me it’s just a great camera to use and am very happy with it so far.

Rinzi Ruiz is a very passionate X100 street shooter and now owns a X-Pro 1. He talks about both cameras even if it’s about the latter. The review is non-technical and therefore very good. I followed him on Flickr for quite some time and I really like his style. Have a look.

Embedded recommendations, updated source & article pages

Marcel Wichmann:

We’re happy to announce that, starting from now, you’ll be able to embed recommendations on your websites. Whether it’s your blog, your tumblr or your self-hosted collection of knitting tutorials, everything’s fine.

Today we released embedded recommendations for QUOTE.fm. We hope you like them as much as we do. They look like this:

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Trailer 2

I am so excited. Fuckyeah!

Say hello to the new Flickr Uploadr

flickr blog:

Today, we’re excited to announce a new feature that will make it even easier and faster for you to upload your photos and share them with the people who matter to you. Introducing the new Flickr Uploadr!

Yesterday Flickr announced their new (HTML5) Uploadr. Looks great as far a I can tell from the images and feature list. The new uploader will be rolled out over the next few weeks. If anyone of you already has it, I would be happy if you share your experience.
There are even more infos on the technical details and a video on the flickr code blog.

Nintendo’s Hard Choice

MG Siegler:

I really, really, really want Mario and Zelda and Donkey Kong and all the other great Nintendo properties on iOS devices.

I would probably buy every single game. And I imagine I wouldn’t be the only one.
