We went for a short walk around my hometown.

For eight years I put my own photographic ambitions on hold. I had seen the side effects of photo assistants and interns trying to concurrently work for photographers and run their own photography careers and have never liked the resulting and inevitable conflict of interest. I decided from the get-go that as long as I was taking a paycheck that said Chase Jarvis Inc. on the top, I’d make that work my only professional ambition. It worked like a charm.

Wow, I totally missed that. Scott Rinckenberger, long time assistant of Chase Jarvis goes out on his own and it seems to turn out quite well. I always liked his appearances on the Chase Jarvis videos and blogposts, so I instantly subscribed to his blog.

Over the last few weeks I saw more and more of his photos on facebook and always asked myself how this goes along with his assistant job, but now I know that he was already on his own assignments. Makes sense.

It’s also worth following Scott on Instagram (scottrinck). He also makes cool videos, I dig that. All the best for you, Scott!

Vor kurzem sprach ich noch über meine derzeitige Einstellung zu Fotobüchern und fragte, ob ihr welche kauft.

Das obige Video gibt schonmal ein paar Eindrücke und macht damit richtig Lust den über 400 Seiten dicken Bildband zu kaufen, der, wie ich finde, gar nicht so teuer ist. Bei Amazon gibt’s das Buch derzeit für 26,95 €.

Ich bin auf sehr schöne Videos von Karl Taylor gestoßen. Dieses hier ist wohl eher für die Fotografiebeginner unter euch gedacht, ist allerdings auch für alle anderen schön anzusehen und manchmal nimmt man ja doch noch irgendwas mit, was man nicht wusste.
Außerdem finde ich seinen Akzent großartig. Da könnt‘ ich Stunden lang zuhören.
