What are you interested in?

Most of my day I’m writing HTML, CSS and Javascript code or am reading. Mostly things about web and technology stuff or photography. As you know I’m interested in tech and photography and am always kind of switching the main topic here on visuelleGedanken.de.

It’s my blog and I post about what interests me the most and that’s fine, but nevertheless I want to know what it is that you are most interested in? Is it seeing my photos? Getting link tips with a short commentary? If, on which topic? Front End Dev tutorials?

Whatever it is that you like most here or would like to see, let me know in the comments below so I can get to know you a little bit better. Thank you!

New Instagram mobile layout

Seems like Instagram also just rolled out a new layout for their mobile photo pages. Looks great. (via)

New tumblr standard mobile theme

The brand new mobile blog: completely redesigned for faster browsing, cleaner reading, and easier sharing.

The new tumblr standard mobile theme is already over a week old but I didn’t notice it until two days ago and I’ve to say I really like it. It’s clean and simple not as the previous one which I really disliked. Nice work!

W3C cheatsheet

Also a nice reference for looking up CSS values is the official W3C cheatsheet. It even offers more infos on the properties. Sadly there are no CSS3 properties like border-radius or box-shadows and the like. (via)

Fluid Apple.com Homepage for iPhone 5

Apple made a subtle vertical responsive Design for the iPhone 5 homepage on apple.com. Nice.

CSS Values

Great overview over all CSS values. Just type a CSS property in the input field on top and see all possible values. (via)

11 Takeaways From Zuckerberg’s First Interview Since Facebook’s IPO

People at Facebook are used to the press saying good and bad things,“ he said. What motivates Facebook employees „is building stuff that they’re proud of. This isn’t just Facebook. This is universal … It’s a great time for people to stay and double down.

Mark Zuckerberg yesterday at TechCrunch Disrupt, giving his first interview since the IPO.

Sony introduces world’s first full-frame compact camera

Olivier Laurent for BJP:

As of 12 September, Sony’s Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 is said to be the world’s first compact camera with a 35mm full-frame 24.3 effective megapixel sensor.

Sweeeeet. I always wondered when this would happen. Looks like this is the perfect street camera, besides probably being also great for everything else.

Sticky Menus Are Quicker To Navigate

Hyrum Denney for Smashing Magazine:

Participants were then asked whether one of the websites felt easier to use. Six of the 40 participants had no preference, but of the 34 that did have a preference, 100% of them indicated that the website with the sticky navigation was easier or faster to use.

As we redesigned the header of QUOTE.fm we also tried sticking it to the top so that you always have access to the menu and your notifications. We felt that it’s really good to use and doesn’t distract too much and also doesn’t take away too much screen space even on a 11″ MacBook Air. It also works great on the iPad and especially on the iPhone it’s very handy. Seems like we made the right call on this one.
