Watched.li Show-Tile

As you might know Philipp, Marcel and me are working on the new watched.li, a service to track the shows you are watching.
Marcel already did most of the Design work and I’m currently putting together the Front End. To try CodePen a little bit more I put a small part of my current watched.li work online as a Pen. You can see one Show-Tile where you can mark shows as seen and unseen. The standard overview in your watched.li account will consist of these tiles.

I wanted to embed the example here, but the code I get from CodePen doesn’t seem to work, so just head over there, have a look and feel free to follow me: http://codepen.io/martinwolf/pen/watchedli-show-tile/

CodePen, the dribbble for Front-End Developers?

CodePen is all about front end code inspiration, education, and sharing. Enter HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and the combined result is displayed below. This is extremely useful for showing off demos, troubleshooting, demonstrating bugs, or anything else you can think of.

CodePen is a service which went into public beta today. The founders are Chris Coyier, Alex Vazquez and Tim Sabat. It’s kind of like jsfiddle, but with a social touch. This could turn out to be really cool.
Biggest problem for me at the moment is, that I really don’t like the design. But let’s see how Codepen evolves. You can find my profile here: http://codepen.io/martinwolf

Reinventing the browser for tablets, Firefox Junior

Apple May Add Interchangeable Lenses to Future iPhones

PetaPixel:

Published earlier today and already discovered by AppleInsider, a new patent from Apple seems to show that the Cupertino company would like to put swappable lenses in future iPhones.

Doesn’t seem like something Apple would do, but we never know. I wouldn’t like that because I’m very happy with the one lens the iPhone provides. I can just shoot and don’t have to think about which lens to attach. Simplicity.

Besides that, a patent doesn’t even mean that they want to do this.

Heat and fan noise from the Retina MacBook Pro

Marco Arment:

Effectively, heat and fan volume are the same as the previous model, but the fan noise has a less irritating tone. If the previous 15” MacBook Pro design was too hot or loud for your preferences, the Retina model probably will be, too.

Here it goes: I will not buy the new Retina MacBook Pro.

WordPress 3.4 „Green“

A release that is especially cool for all the non-developer WordPress owners, who want to change some appearance things themselves. This means it’s good for theme developers, too.
You can find the new developer features in the WordPress Codex.

Wildlife photographer’s image used in Apple’s new MacBook ad

Steve Bloom:

The picture has always been one of Bloom’s most popular, he explains. „It’s one of these pictures you can’t predict, because when you’re doing that kind of wildlife photography, you have no control over what’s happening. The moment you see it through your viewfinder, you have to react quickly and instinctively. It’s the sort of picture that has good commercial potential.“

Steve Bloom talks about the origin of the photo which is used as a wallpaper on the new retina MacBook Pro ads.

Besides the QUOTE.fm integration Reeder 3.0 is an amazing update to an anyway great app. I use it every day. You should too.

Fotomarathon Hamburg

Oh, there’s also a Fotomarathon in Hamburg this year, very cool. It’s on September, 15th. There’s a good chance I’ll take part. Thanks Miriam for pointing that out.
