Am 10. Oktober 2010 habe ich mich als 62062. Nutzer bei Instagram registriert. Mein erstes Foto zeigte ganz unspektakulär ein etwas unaufgeräumtes Wohnzimmer mit einer Palme und Schrankwand. Ich erhielt dafür drei Likes, danach passierte so gut wie nichts. Und das blieb auch bei den folgenden Fotos so. Genau wie Twitter vor nunmehr über fünf Jahren war dieses Instagram nun da – und ich wusste nicht so recht etwas damit anzufangen. Auch Instagram erschließt sich erst, wenn man es selbst ausprobiert und von innen erlebt hat.

So I took a few hours to whip up a simple Mac app to backup your pictures. Login with your Instagram credentials and it will pull down all the images you have taken with Instagram.

Eine Mac App, die ein Backup eures kompletten Instagram-Archivs erstellt. Ich brauche das zwar nicht, da eh alle meine Fotos in iPhoto landen und damit auf dem Mac archiviert sind, aber vielleicht für den ein oder anderen spannend.

Garrett Murray:

Och nöö, das gefällt mir überhaupt nicht. Instagram war für mich immer dieser kleiner, nette Service, den aber Millionen Menschen nutzen und lieben. Ein Produkt, dass langsam gewachsen ist und gelernt hat auf eigenen Beinen zu stehen. Ich hoffe sehr, dass es das trotz des Aufkaufs von Facebook irgendwie bleiben kann und nicht zu sehr in den „Socialsumpf“ von Facebook gesogen wird.

Indizien dafür, dass alles halbwegs gut bleiben könnte liefert Zuckerberg:

Als großer Fan von Instagram hoffe ich sehr, dass die Jungs und Mädels wissen was sie da tun und alles so cool bleibt, wie es bisher war.

As part of the partnership, Hipstamatic users will be presented with the option to share photos to Instagram. You’ll be able to add a filter and other tweaks as normal from the app, and when it appears on Instagram it’ll show up with a “Taken with Hipstamatic” attribution.
